Experimental websites by Eugenio Forchielli.
All websites pursue an ideal of simplicity in order to explore complex themes and subtle emotions.

Your second (2022)

Open --->

[EN] Your second explores the relationships between words, images, and time, inviting users to reflect on the minimal units of cinematic language, their manipulation, and the suspension of disbelief. On the website, the user can interact with 24 numbers representing the 24 frames of a film second. Each frame is associated with a word and an image taken from David Lynch's film Mulholland Drive (2001).

Untitled (2022)

Open --->

[EN] Untitled invites users to decipher a temporal puzzle, guided by two clocks and a fragment of a letter. Solving the puzzle will reveal the complete text of the letter and its hidden meaning. The site is a tribute to Cuban artist Félix González-Torres and one of his most famous works: Untitled (Perfect Lovers) (1987-1990).

Open --->

[EN] Word CTRL is a work based on text and sound, in which the user can delete every element on the page with a simple click, until they are left with a completely blank background. The project is inspired by The Ticket That Exploded (1962) by writer William S. Burroughs and reflects on the impossibility of silence as a consequence of thoughts and words.

Picture of the Past (2023)

Open --->

[EN] Picture of the Past is a journey through memory and time, through their fragmentation and reconstruction. Users are invited to recompose a snapshot of life during the Great War, interacting with the texts of a page from a book that has already been leafed through, evoking words and images from a lost era. A project in memory of all the victims of war.

Last Call (2024)

Open --->

[EN] Last Call is an elegy for a lost world, that of the Moho, an extinct species of bird native to the island of Kauai. The work reflects on the concepts of separation and disappearance: between male and female, species and habitat, life and death, past and present. A separation that is expressed in form and content. The web page is divided into two parts that never come into contact. One reproduces the song of the last male specimen, the other the silence of the female that has already disappeared.

Pause (2024)

Open --->

[EN] Pause makes visible what is often invisible. Inspired by concrete poetry, where the arrangement of words is as important as the words themselves, the website records the rhythm of writing and moments of hesitation. The pauses between words become spaces of meaning, prompting reflection on language and the distance that separates thoughts and words.

[IT] Pause rende visibile ciò che spesso è invisibile.

Croissant (2025)

Coming soon

[EN] Croissant has no purpose, no moral, and no logic. It just has croissants. The project stems from a reflection on the absurdity and beauty of chaos, a reminder that not everything needs an explanation. Sometimes the beauty of existing things lies in their lack of logical meaning.
